In other fashion news, the annual Victoria’s Secret runway show was held in New York City. The sexy show didn’t fail to please featuring the Angels and the recently enlisted “new Angels” Chanel Iman, Lindsay Ellingson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Candice Swanepoel. The show also included a cast of stellar high fashion runway regulars: Anja Rubik, Anna Jagodzinska, Eniko Mihalik, Caroline Trentini, Liu Wen, Isabeli Fontana, Maryna Linchuk and Sessilee Lopez to name a few. Walking alongside VS Angel Miranda Kerr, were fellow Australians Abbey Lee Kershaw and Elyse Taylor.
Heidi Klum also made a runway appearance just six weeks after giving birth to her fourth child. Really, it’s not that exciting because that is how we all look after child birth… The also post-pregnant VS Angels Adriana Lima and Karolina Kurkova sat the show out this year.
The show featured five different sections themed Star Trooper, All Aboard, Pink Planet, Enchanted Forest, and Romantic Journey. I personally found the Star Trooper section particularly interesting. Stylist Charlotte Stockdale described the set up “We came up with the idea of this girl who lands from outer space in Paris. She gets on a train that comes to a halt in Pinkland, where pink girls get on and off. Then they go into this fairy-tale forest and little lady bugs and butterflies land on them and vines grow up on their clothes. Then, there’s Tick-Tock Time; the wings in this section are based on clocks — there’s one modeled after a pocket watch with metallic feathers. And she ends up in this regal realm of princess-ness, where the wings have Swarovski jewels and peacock feathers.”
