There are only a few designers I look out for during the New York fashion week line up and this is one that delivered. I’m in absolute awe with the latest Proenza Schouler collection because it’s right up my alley, only 100 times cooler. The collection is super modern with grunge and oriental elements that add major sex appeal. The silhouettes created by the voluminous boxy shoulders are crazy especially teamed with the incredibly woven leather wrap skirts. Another thing that was refreshing was how the rise of the pants dropped nice and low with a super slouchy fit. Oh and the shoes! The styling! The hair and make up… amazing! Yeah, anyway I’m going to continue drooling now… and maybe start compiling a to buy list. Laters

I have a pretty extensive to buy/wish list at the moment. My latest purchase is the Helmut Lang asymmetrical bra which I cannot wait to receive. I’ve had the Balenciaga grommet heels page opened on my browser for months now… I’ll definitely buy them because they’re so simple yet so mean, just a matter of checking out huh… The same deal goes with the Givenchy Iris tee, they’re available for pre-order from Barneys + Luisaviaroma and looks crazy but I don’t think I’d wear it more than twice… I don’t think you can get away with wearing a printed tee so many times. Anyway sugar daddies… call me.

So this is the first show of the season that has made me feel excited about fashion. It’s a great feeling and I’m sure I will get this thrill many more times in the next month or so. I love the prints and shapes throughout the collection, it has this edgy feminine vibe about it which is a great combination. I don’t know what to say other than that I’m deep lusting.

What I really like about the latest from Phillip Lim is the pairing of heavy coats and sheer layering. I’m a big fan of contrasts and this is one that I haven’t really played with before. It’s subtle-sexy, which is what I’d ideally like to be because I don’t think I could be straight up sexy… no matter how hard I tried. I don’t know about the whole black/white thing going on in some of the looks, it feels like I’ve seen it before… like Gareth Pugh’s 2009 Spring collection, Kate Winslet wearing Stella McCartney at the 2011 Venice Film Festival and maybe something Josh Goot has done before… I guess it’s a classic that looks pretty cool together, I don’t know why I don’t love it… but if I was a zebra this is how I would like my stripes to be. Fashion zebra. Cool.
